A dear friend of mine actually sent me a big basket of chestnuts to roast at home, so I had to try to draw some of them. After a few experiments, I found the best way to roast them is in the toaster oven!
Recently, I went to Jenny's Farm Stand in Dexter where I got cider and pumpkin donuts. I had a good time watching the chickens running around, and I brought home a little pumpkin and some jars of honey and pickled baby beets.
I visited Greenfield Village in Dearborn recently, and I checked out the handmade pottery exhibit in the Liberty Craftworks section. I tried to draw some of the designs on the pottery. I think the snowman turned out pretty good.
Over the weekend, I bought some vegetarian sushi rolls at Whole Foods and I noticed the sections looked a lot like zentangles, so I decided to draw some of them. The little squares are carrots. The triangles are cucumbers and the rectangles are avocado. The outside is of course the rice.
I visited The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology in Ann Arbor recently. I wanted to do some sketching while I was there, but they don't allow pencils for some reason. So I took some pictures and then I sketched them once I was home.
